Bonus Card holders spent 24% more, between June and August, than the same period last year, the total volume of transactions increasing to RON 84.43 million, from RON 68.1 million, in 2013. Over55,000 customers used their credit cards during this summer, compared to the approximately 51,000 in 2013. Furthermore, the total number of transactions increased also by 16%.

On average, aGaranti Bank customer performedapproximately 11 Bonus Card transactionsin this period, in total amount ofaround RON 1,525.
In these specific months, Bonus Card holders used their credit cards mostly for shopping in grocery stores, gas stations, clothing stores, drug stores and forbuying electronics.66% of these amounts represented full payments, while 34% were purchases withfree of interest installments.

Out of the total purchases performedwith Bonus Cardduring the three summer months, 9% were online. The cardholders used their credit cardson the Internetmostly to pay their electric utilities,purchase cosmetics, and buy electronics, while the highest expenditures were made for the acquisition of electronics, cosmetics and traveling.

Turkey and the UK continued to be the favorite summer holiday destinations for Bonus Card customers, in terms of volume of transactions.

Bonus Card is a unique product in Romania and one of the most rewarding payment tool in the market for both cardholders and merchants.The cardholders accumulate bonus every time they perform a transaction with it, both inside and outside the country and the bonus represents money that afterwards can be redeemed for free shopping in the Bonus Card partner shops network. Moreover, the customers can choose to pay in installments free ofinterest, benefiting from flexibility in choosing the number of rates, based on their personal needs.
