Romania is changing its core banking system to Flexcube, by the beginning of July, following Crédit Agricole decision to increasingly standardizing the core system of international branches, said the bank in a press release.

Crédit Agricole, the leading French bank and one of the world largest banks by asset size, has chosen to support the bank’s international consolidation and growth. Implementing Flexcube in international subsidiaries will enable Credit Agricole to standardize business processes for its global operations.

Mr. Pierre Martin (foto) the CEO of Emporiki Bank Romania declared: “By implementing a new Core-Banking System in Emporiki Bank - Romania, member of Crédit Agricole Group, it is underlined the Group continuous commitment for the development of Romanian subsidiary, considering upgrading hardware and software to new technologies, last generation platforms capable of sustaining long-term strategy, diversification and increasing customer service.

The new platform will facilitate the implementation of common services and products within the Crédit Agricole Group subsidiaries, standardization of procedures, quality, and best practices of the group, consolidating bank information, creating a global infrastructure to facilitate analysis and decision making process.”

Teams from Paris, Athens and Bucharest have joined forces to implement and to adapt all the processes of the new system. Implementing Flexcube will help Emporiki Bank Romania benefit of the Crédit Agricole core expertise in retail banking, delivering efficiently products and services to customers.

“The new Core - Banking System helps our bank increase the service quality delivered to customers, overcome the challenges of intense competition and increased customer expectations by creating a unique competitive advantage built upon improved profitability and an extended customer reach” said Mr. Benoit Sarraute the Deputy General Manager of Emporiki Bank Romania.

All employees have been fully trained in learning the new core system functionality. The Project leader for Romania, Mr. Florin Prunea Manager of the IT Division of Emporiki Bank – Romania underlined the following:
“We are sure that through migration to the new CBS (as Group’s common platform for all the Balkans’ subsidiaries) a more efficient IT platform will be provided to our customers as well as to our colleagues - with new functionalities able to satisfy the business development programs- giving drivers to review processes towards service quality efficiency and productivity. The new widely common IT platform – Flexcube, will also contribute to share best practices (processes, controls) and technological know-how (technical architecture, security, etc.)”.

For the success of this implementation a series of actions will occur during 30 of June and 4th of July. Therefore, we would like to inform our customers about the following:

Our working program will be change:

- Friday 1st of July will be a non working day
- Monday 4th of July the branches will open at 13.00 until 17.00
- From Tuesday 5th July we will return to the normal schedule: 9.00-17.00

Our electronic products & services will be temporarily suspended between 30th of June at 18.00 o’clock until 4th of July at 9.00 o’clock as follows:
- card transactions on ATM as well as on merchants, local or international;
- i-conect, the internet banking service.
Emporiki Bank recommends to its customers to undertake all necessary actions for programming the banking operations that needs to be effectuated in this period of time.
