Romanian E-commerce based on online payment by card rose by 18% in the first quarter of 2011, compared to the same interval of 2010, to EUR 80.5 M, and the number of processed transactions rose by 8 pc, to 1.3 M, according to data supplied by Romcard.
Over one million transactions were processed, via the ePayment system, in the aforementioned interval, amounting to a total EUR 71.2 M, and the number of people who chose to make online payments, via the ePayment system, rose by 10 pc, compared to the same interval of the preceding year.
Tour packages and plane tickets purchase, the payment of utilities, services and telecommunications still account for the largest portion of online payments.
