S&P Withdraws Ratings On National Bank of Romania As Issuer Has No Rated Debt Outstanding |

MADRID (Standard&Poor's) May 19, 2011--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that it has withdrawn its ratings on the National Bank of Romania (NBR, the central bank of Romania).
This is because NBR has no rated debt outstanding and, consequently, the purpose for which the rating was initially issued ceased to exist.
Under these circumstances, the withdrawal action is a procedural one. The ratings on Romania are unaffected by this action. Notwithstanding the withdrawal, we continue to view the creditworthiness of NBR as being the same as that of Romania.
