UniCredit: statement about media speculations

"With regards to rumors and speculations reported in the media pertaining to UniCredit's upcoming strategic review -which led to unusual share price movements in UniCredit, FinecoBank and Pekao stocks on Wednesday 27 july 2016- Unicredit will ask the relevant Authorities to investigate possible market abuse and, if it so deems necessary, pursue all other available means to ensure that its rights and reputation are protected."

Reuters said that UniCredit was considering a cash call of more than 5 billion euros and the sale of its remaining stakes in Fineco online broker and Pekao in Poland.
