At end-September 2015, non-government loans granted by Romanian credit institutions edged up 0.2 percent (0.0 percent in real terms) from August 2015 to RON 214,330.7 million, said Romanian National Bank in a statement.
RON-denominated loans climbed by 2.2 percent (1.9 percent in real terms), whereas foreign currency-denominated loans fell by 1.7 percent when expressed in RON and by 1.4 percent when expressed in EUR.
At end-September 2015, non-government loans inched up 0.6 percent (2.4 percent in real terms) year on year, on the back of the 16.8 percent increase in RON-denominated loans (18.8 percent in real terms) and the 11.8 percent decline in foreign currency-denominated loans expressed in RON (when expressed in EUR, forex loans dropped 11.9 percent).
Romanian government credit stood 1.2 percent higher in September 2015 at RON 87,712.9 million. At end-September 2015, government credit increased by 7.8 percent (9.7 percent in real terms) from the same year-ago period.
